A RAINY DAY
After a long sweltering spell of the sun people were anxiously
waiting for Lord Varuna for casting his unique magic and to relieve the people
from the clutches of scorching heat.
It was a Sunday and the heat was unbearable in the late afternoon.
Standing in the balcony I was cursing the sun when suddenly the sky was covered by
a blanket of thick black clouds.
The sudden blackness frightened the birds who flew in all directions.
The atmosphere was a pleasant one and at last the sky opened its heart and
down came the rain in torrents. After the initial shower of rain of almost a quarter of an
hour the rain ceased. The pleasant smell of the soil rose in my nose and the arrival
of the Rain God was evident.
But the evening proved to be a different one.Again the sky was under the
heavy influence of the clouds. The rain bore heavily on the earth. The kingdom of darkness
presided in the evening. The sun had long ago made the vanishing act. Those who had
gone for a walk after the pleasant afternoon weather were in for a rude surprise
when the showers spared no one.
The earth was under a long spell of showers. The lightnings thundered
furiously and many unfortunate people were stranded. As this was not enough the
electric supply was cut off creating panic among the people.People were greatly
inconvenienced. Many great trees were felled by the great strength of the combined
      force of wind and rain.
On reading the newspapers the following day I understood that the
transportation like trains and buses and even mobile and telephone connections
were cut off adding to the sufferings of the people.
Seeing all the great art of the nature, I prayed to the God to be more
lenient in the near future.Such was a memorable rainy day which I experienced
myself and so I always believe in the force of nature which is greater to any force
     according to me.
                                                                                                             -VISHAL RAKSHE.
